Getting Started

I’m not sure what type of tiles to get. Can you help?

Absolutely! Not only can we help you pick out tiles, but we can work together in creating a custom tile design that will match your home and your style. We can also assist with picking out bathroom fixtures, bathtubs, toilets, paint, etc. We are here every step of the way to make your project a success.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Currently we accept checks and cash. We are working on accepting credit card payments in the near future.

How long will the installation take?

Before beginning any work, we will give you an estimate on how long it will take to complete your project. Each tile installation is unique and therefore the amount of time devoted to each project is different. Some jobs take a day to complete while others can take weeks, but thanks to our knowledge and years of experience, we are able to provide a quick turnaround for most moderately sized jobs.

I heard that tile is pretty much maintanance free. Is that true?

Compared to other products, you may find that tile and grout require less maintenance than other floors, but it is not maintenance free. Grout should be sealed and caulking needs to be maintained to prevent deterioration of the backer board.

Should I use a cement board or a drywall?

Preferably cement board should be used in all applications – especially in wet areas. Most types of cement board are water resistant and won’t fall apart like drywall will should there be a water problem.

After Care

Does my grout need to be resealed?

All you need is a few drops of water for this test. Simply put a few drops onto the grout. If the water beads up, the sealer is fine. If the water is absorbed by the grout, it needs to be resealed.

Is it difficult to replace a broken tile?

Replacing a broken tile is best handled by a professional. The grout is removed, followed by the tile. A hammer and chisel is used to remove the grout and tile. Once all the mortar/adhesive is removed, a new tile can be installed.

How long will a ceramic tile floor last? What about a ceramic shower?

If your tile floor is properly maintained, you can expect it to last 20 years or more. You will greatly enhance the life of your tile floors or walls by using a properly installed cement backer board. Properly maintained tile walls installed over a cement backer board can also last 20 or more years.
